NEW CLIENTS

A FEW NEW CLIENTS IN APRIL, 2008

Our latest Protection from Abuse client, a 27 year old male, was served with papers by his former girlfriend who claimed he threatened over the telephone to kill her and he sent her harrassing text messages, all because his child support was increased. In court, I was able to convince her attorney to have her client withdraw the petition. The real issue appeared to be custody of their child, not fear of physical harm.

A 51 year old mother of 3 adult children, married 33 years (seperated 6 1/2 years) came to her through her employer's legal services plan for a divorce. Because of the length of her seperation, and because she has no economic claims to raise, her divorce will take the least amount of time (2-3 months).

A 33 year old mother of 4, married almost 11 years (seperated almost 4 years), was referred to us by her employer's legal plan. Because of the length of her seperation, we will obtain grounds for divorce quickly and help her negotiate a reasonable property settlement agreement, so she can move on with her life.

A 20 something year old male asked us to prepare a will, durable power of attorney and medical directive/living will. All three documents are covered under his legal services plan, so there is no cost to him!

A FEW NEW CLIENTS FOR JANUARY, 2008

We got a contract case from an attorney in Germany. He found us on the internet. The dispute is over an ebay transaction invovling a seller in Doylestown, Pa. The dispute is almost $8,000. The case is scheduled for trial in February, 2008.

We started a civil suit in Court of Common Pleas, Bucks County for a client of ours who loaned money to a real estate investor who gave back two (2) Promissory Notes. We qiuckly filed suit for the return of more than $60,000, plus ongoing penalties, interest, and costs. We sued the defendant individually and doing business as a corporation.

A couple came in to see us about divorce mediation. The wife found us on the internet. We are obtaining their marriage certificate and working on a property settlement agreement on terms provided by them.

We are representing a woman who is being sued by a prospective buyer of her home. Relying on the sale going through, the prospective buyer claims she sold the property to a third person and has incurred damages. The case is scheduled for trial on January 31, 2008.

A FEW NEW CLIENTS IN SEPTEMBER, 2007

For the end of September, 2007, we added an Estate matter, incorporated a new business, represented a landlord in an eviction, helped people buy new homes, took on several divorce clients and mediated two real estate cases. Our clients found us on the internet, were referred to us by family or friends, used their legal services plan available through their employment, or were refered to us by the Board of Realtors.

The estate client was referred to us by her accountant/financial adviser. Her mom had recently passed away living behind a home among other assets. The mom's will was done in the 1980's and we found out both of the witnesses to the will had died. We accompanied our client to the Register of Wills office and were just notified that the Letters Testamentary are ready. Having helped our client get appointed as the Executrix, she can now go about putting her mom's house up for sale and otherwise administer to her estate.

The incorporation client is a repeat client of ours. Recently we represented him and his wife in an adoption matter in Bucks County. We filed the Articles of Incorporation and the Docketing statement and are waiting for our time stamped filed copies to be returned to us. We will order a corporate kit for him, help him obtain a federal tax payer identification number (EIN) and publish the notices in the newspaper.

The landlord is also a repeat client. This is our second eviction for him. He lives out of state. We were able to electronically file the Landlord/Tenant Complaint and exhibits with the Philadelphia County Municipal Court. His hearing is scheduled for the mid October.

The real estate clients found us on the internet and from a legal services plan. All of them are first time home buyers. We reviewed agreements of sale, inspection reports, closing documents and attended settlements/closings.

The divorce cases involve a diverse group. One couple is in their 30's married 3 years; one couple is 55 and 70 years old respectively; and one client is 30 years old and married for 12 years. The cases are in Montgomery and Philadelphia County. One couple has a post-nuptial agreement we did shortly after they got married.

The mediation cases invovled the return of good faith depsoit money for real estate transactions that went to settlement/closing. The parties agreed to mediate their disputes first before litigating them.
